Phenomenal Tennis Player, Even Better Dude
When you’re the best in the league, it’s easy to develop an attitude. Some players get cocky, others might deliver terrible interviews—a few have even displayed pretty ugly behavior on the court, which makes it uncomfortable for everyone. However, there’s one guy who doesn’t have a scratch on his record, and it’s one of the biggest reasons people love him. It’s time we paid a small tribute to Roger Federer!

1. Good Sportsmanship
On the surface, tennis might seem more laid-back than your average NFL matchup. But it’s a grueling sport like any other, and plenty of players have broken rackets or exchanged heated words with opponents. Federer didn't do that. In fact, he was often hailed as being the most level-headed guy out there.

2. Incredible Abilities
Even if you don’t like tennis much, there’s no denying how impressive Federer is. He’s taken home countless championships, lasted hours on the court, and quickly made his place as a memorable player. He’s entertaining and kind, which makes him one of the best people to root for!
3. Ambassador for the Game
He might be retired, but his legacy lives on. After decades on the court, his name made its way across several brands, from Lindt to UNIQLO. He’s also been a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF! In 2004, his fame and fortune helped raise money for children in need and for tsunami relief.

4. Great Personality
It’s hard not to like Federer—it doesn’t matter who you are! He’s a down-to-earth dude who obviously loves the sport, but he also has a kind-mannered personality that stretches well beyond the court. He was always kind in interviews, constantly has a smile on his face, and isn’t afraid to stand up for those in need.
5. He Embodies the Sport
When you think about tennis, a few names probably come to mind. But none capture the sport better than Federer. He built a decades-long legacy that included everything from Grand Slam titles to singles wins. Best of all, his excellence only encouraged younger players to pursue their dreams, too.
