The 5 Most Expensive NFL Contracts Ever Made

Not Bad for a Day’s Work

When you’re hunting for a superstar, there’s no number too high to secure the name. While we’ll likely never see numbers like that on our paychecks, it can be exciting to see just how much a key player is worth in the eyes of their coach. With that, let’s dive into some insane contracts that had one too many zeroes.

1. Josh Allen

The Buffalo Bills wouldn’t let their star quarterback get away, and that’s exactly what the numbers said. In a record-breaking $330 million deal, Allen secured a six-year contract in 2025, with $250 million guaranteed right out of the gate. The numbers put him alongside the top earners in the league.

2. Joe Burrow

Allen may have nabbed an eye-popping deal, but he actually isn’t even the highest-paid player in the NFL. That honor goes to Joe Burrow, the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback who re-signed with the team in 2023 for a $275 million contract. $219 million of that was guaranteed, and the numbers made him the top-paid player in the sport.

3. Brock Purdy

Speaking of top-paid quarterbacks, Brock Purdy officially signed on the dotted line for a few pretty pennies across five years. In 2025, he resigned with the San Francisco 49ers for a whopping $265 million. To make the deal even sweeter, he got $181 million guaranteed.

4. Lamar Jackson

Jackson might be a few years into his contract, but we doubt he’s complaining about the agreed-upon price. This diamond quarterback scored an impressive $260 million five-year contract with the Ravens back in 2023; roughly $185 million was offered in guarantees.
