The NFL has proud fans everywhere, but some states boast more passion than others. We’re not just talking about a lucky jersey, either! Whether it’s the turnout at college football games or the special cheers and weekend parties for professional teams, these five states have the biggest followings in football.

1. Pennsylvania
It’s hard not to love one of the two major teams this state’s home to. You have your pick between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Pittsburgh Steelers, both of which carry a reverent following that results in sold-out games and jam-packed bars throughout the area!
2. Texas
Of course, the Keystone State isn’t the only one with two notable teams in the NFL. Fans can root for the Houston Texans or Dallas Cowboys (or both) in the professional league, or fill the stands at college games—another venue that brings thousands of excited fans to the bleachers.
3. Alabama
Okay, so Alabama doesn’t technically have a team of its own, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t fans of the game! The largest following comes from Falcons fans, though the Titans and the Saints also play a big part in just how many people flock to the stadiums.

4. Tennessee
Speaking of the Titans, Tennessee also has its pick of the litter of football teams. Of course, the Titans are an obvious choice, but surrounding areas also root for the Cowboys and Steelers, two major teams that continuously sell out their games. The state also has a pretty major college football following!
5. Arizona
Part of the Cardinals’ charm is just how devoted their fans are. So, they may not have won a championship for 60+ years, but that doesn’t mean their fans will abandon them. In fact, many supporters have stuck around since before the team’s inception, making their presence even more exciting.
