The 5 Biggest Tennis Tournaments Around The World

Quiet on the Court, Please

When you think about it, tennis is more of an event than anything—especially when you’re in the audience. Yes, you can watch some world-class athletes rep your country, but you also don your nicest clothes and may even bump shoulders with a celebrity. The point is, tennis brings the biggest names to the stands and the court, and we’re here to revel in the top tournaments!

1. Wimbledon

Even if you’ve never been, Wimbledon is a well-known tournament that’s been around since 1877. It’s officially part of the four events that make up the Grand Slam (ranking third in line), and draws massive numbers in the crowd. You’ll easily be among hundreds of thousands of people, and the day itself is an incredible experience.

2. Australian Open

The Australian Open was first held way back in 1905, so the entire event is steeped in rich history. It also belongs to the Grand Slam events and boasts the highest number of attendees! Well, when something is nicknamed the “Happy Slam,” it’s bound to be popular.

3. US Open

4. French Open

It doesn’t really matter where you play—professional tennis is a feat that isn’t for the weak. However, the French Open is the only major among the Grand Slams that has a clay court, a notoriously difficult terrain that makes it harder on players. That added touch alone is enough reason to tune in.

5. ATP Finals

Only the best of the best make it to the ATP Finals (or the WTA Finals for all the female tennis stars). It’s a massive championship game with everything on the line, and you bet it draws in thousands of spectators.
